Sneinton Market & Lower Parliament Street Construction Fly Through

Leonard Design have been working on a number of transformative projects for Nottingham’s Creative Quarter, including Sneinton Market and a 215-bed student accommodation. With construction well underway on multiple sites we have taken a drone fly through to really experience the full site.

In 2017, Leonard Design were engaged on the ‘Sneinton Market’ project, to design a mixed-use development that aimed to preserve and enhance the local heritage setting. The reinvigoration of the market area also included a 44-student unit new-build and an extensive re-development of two existing buildings. Leonard Design were appointed by Carlton Street Trading to take the project through planning to tender and were novated to the contractor to deliver the scheme, completing in 2022.

Further to the above, Leonard Design were appointed by BMOR to design a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) facility opposite the Nottingham Arena, on Lower Parliament Street. The PBSA provided a total of 215 student beds across 6 levels of accommodation with communal and an independent food & beverage offering on the Ground Floor. Use of materials have been considered, with brick being the preferred facade option to ensure longevity and a quality finish, whilst also remaining in keeping with the surrounding context. Leonard Design were novated to contractor, Galliford Try, to deliver the scheme which is on course to be delivered for the September ’23 student intake.
