We are thrilled to share that our design proposals for a high-quality 100,000ft² office at 230 Newmarket Road, on behalf of Railpen with Ridgelift as Development Management, have been granted planning approval by Cambridge City Council.

230 Newmarket Road will establish a new office location in Cambridge, featuring exceptional transport links and connections to local green spaces along the river Cam and Coldhams Common.

The proposals will enhance Newmarket Road and the adjacent Cambridge Retail Park, creating an urban marker on a primary route into the city that repairs the street scene. The design features engaging frontages and building forms, contributing to a cohesive composition that imparts a timeless, calm, and elegant character to the new marker building.

The building has been carefully crafted with a sophisticated massing strategy and refined rhythmic façade articulation, creating a structure with a distinct identity. The ground-floor plinth and rooftop pavilions are delicate and expressive visual features, defining the class-leading spaces they contain.

230 Newmarket Road will 100,000ft² of high-end office floorspace for digital research and technology-focused businesses. This state-of-the-art building aims to set a new benchmark for office and innovation neighbourhoods in Cambridge.
