Location
Sheffield, UK
COMPLETION
Spring 2021
AREA
70,000 sqft
Located at the gateway to the Heart of the City II development, Block B will feature ground level shops restaurants and cafés with office space and urban apartments above.
Block B, along with Block C, form the next phase of the Heart of the City II Masterplan and build upon the success of the first phase, Grosvenor House. Located at the edge of the city centre conservation area, they will transform the surrounding area into a dynamic and mixed-use district, whilst respecting some of Sheffield’s key historic buildings and streetscapes.

‘Laycock House’ is one such asset, and forms part of a prominent late Victorian Townscape along Pinstone Street to the east and Charles Street to the west. It will be sensitively refurbished and integrated into the development with its historic retail frontages and townhouses refurbished whilst improving access.

The new build elements will include up to four retail and food and beverage units at ground level and 52 (studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom) apartments arranged over the 7 levels above in ‘Burgess House’. The scheme also includes a striking 3 storey boutique office at the corner of Pinstone Street which will be known as ‘Athol House’. It will be accessed via an enhanced shared courtyard facing Cross Burgess Street.

Works are scheduled to commence on site in late 2019 and are due to be completed in early 2021.
