Cavendish Building, Heart of the City 2, Sheffield

Construction of the first phase of the new Heart of the City 2 continues to progress well with a large amount of the main structure completed. Attention is now focusing on the Main Building façade with the Installation of the Schuco façade progressing well, the glazed & anodised aluminium panels along Moorhead have been largely been completed and the eagerly anticipated Installation of the terracotta is due to commence in the next few weeks.

Work to the Roof Terrace continues to impress with the Rain water attenuation system complete, and the paving already laid.

Water proofing of the main roof is largely complete with the Roof top plant services & associated plant screen have commenced as the programme.

The separate Food & Beverage Kiosks base build is on schedule with the main concrete works due to finish shortly; ready for the façade and stone walls to be erected.

LDA have also had the pleasure to further build on the mentoring success of the Nottingham Architecture students, giving them a tour of the site and an introduction to how a contractor approaches a large scale project.

Take a look at our project page for more info on the Cavendish project or see the full scope of the masterplan on the official site.
